- Topics To Be Covered During Clinical Posting In Medicine
- Introduction, Welcome to the department, Distribution & basic guidelines of the working pattern of the department.
- During the first posting basic history taking is taught and the students are encouraged to take detailed history and each student has to present at least two history during the first posting. During their ward leaving they have to show at least five histories at the time of ward leaving and 50% marks of ward leaving are there for the history. Correct way to doing General Systemic examination is emphasized upon.
- During the second posting respiratory, Cardiovascular and Gastrointestinal systems are taught. Cases of the above system are shown in detail along with the relevant investigations.
- During the third and final posting remaining systems are taught along with investigations.
- Emphasis is laid on the Art of history taking during each posting. During ward leaving 50 % of marks are for the history that the students take.
- OPD setup is also shown to the students but more emphasis is on the examination of the patients in the ward.
- Students are shown various bed side procedures by the PG Students.
- Instruments used in Medicines are also shown to the students.
- X- Ray and ECG are also taught during the final posting.
