Examination Pattern
METHOD OF EXAMINATION
BHAVNAGAR UNIVERSITY.
SCHEME OF UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION IN
ANAESTHESIOLOGY (M.D.)
A) THEORY EXAMINATION:
- There shall be 4 question papers, each of 3 hours duration. Total marks of each paper will be 100. Questions on recent advances may be asked in any or all papers.
- Theory examination shall be held sufficiently earlier than clinical/practical examination so that the answer books are assessed before the commencement of the clinical/practical examinations.
- Theory examination will be 400 marks. Students must obtain 50% (200 marks) to pass examination.
- Framing of the question paper would be such that it can test the student’s analytical skill as well as knowledge in depth.
THEORY PAPERS TOPIC DISTRIBUTION
P.G. Degree in Anaesthesiology
Paper – I : Basic sciences as applied to anaesthesiology : anatomy physiology, General principals of pharmacology and biochemistry, ethics, quality assurance, Medicolegal aspects |
Principles and techniques of anaesthesia including regional Anaesthesia, Monitoring, Anaesthesia drugs & equipments. Pain medicine. |
Paper – III : Anaesthesia in relation to associated systemic diseases, & subspecialties. |
PAPER – IV : Intensive care medicine, & resent advances in anaesthsia specialty. |
Paper pattern for each paper is as follow:
Paper : Total marks: 100 Duration: 3 Hrs.
Q I : Long question: 20 marks
Q II : Long question: 20 marks
Q III : Long question: 20 marks
Q IV : Write notes on: 20 marks
QV : Write notes on: 20 marks

A) THEORY EXAMINATION:
- There shall be 4 question papers, each of 3 hours duration. Total marks of each paper will be 100. Questions on recent advances may be asked in any or all papers.
- Theory examination shall be held sufficiently earlier than clinical/practical examination so that the answer books are assessed before the commencement of the clinical/practical examinations.
- Theory examination will be 300 marks. Students must obtain 50% (150 marks) to pass examination.
- Framing of the question paper would be such that it can test the student’s analytical skill as well as knowledge in depth.
